We decided to stop and have breakfast before heading to appointments and we landed at this old fashion traditional cafe. We were sat on the booth and as I was glancing around, I saw this picture of "1910 Citrus and Badillo St. Covina" The menu picture was so familiar to us but no relation to one of the restaurant in Covina. Our server Alicia was so nice and attentive. The food was cooked to our liking and because of the high prices of eggs, she did say $1.00 extra charge for our breakfast since it does have eggs on our order... no problem. The price was so reasonable and yes, we are coming back.
Phenomenal breakfast!! Found this place while traveling and it is a true find! The egg enchiladas are the best breakfast i have ever had, and I go out to eat often. Cash only but extremely affordable. Service is friendly and quick. Can't wait to come here for lunch. Also, the memorabilia and old school diner look can't be beat. You need to go here!!
Another great visit here! Vanessa the waitress is always smiling, friendly and very attentive. Decided to have the pork chop breakfast this time and it was great. Price and service here is top notch! Ask for Vanessa, you will not be disappointed!
Came here after the Rose Bowl Parade and it was the best first meal of the New Year! We had a party of 8 and we lucked out and waited for maybe 10 minutes for a table since a big group had just left. They seated us at the back and the tables they gave us could've easily fit 12 people. Also, this place is GREAT for kids. We had 4 kids in our party. The wall decor and vintage photos were fun to see, especially the old pics of Alhambra. I got to try the waffle with fresh strawberries, chocolate chip pancakes, Popeyes omelette, and chilaquiles. All were so delicious! Portion sizes were great and prices were amazing! There was a long wait to get our food but as it says on their menu, "Good Food Takes Time to Prepare". So take some playing cards or games and enjoy talking story with some nice company while you dine here. You can see the few cooks behind the counter moving at 100 mph getting the orders in. It really does feel like an old school retro diner and I hope it doesn't change.
Love this old time diner. Been in business since 1941. Great place for breakfast and burgers. Very friendly and attentive staff. Recommend their omelettes and burgers. Menudo and Tamales served Saturday and Sunday. Menudo is average. Could use more tripe
I'm a big fan of this old-school gem. The breakfast is fantastic--simple but delicious. Homemade white toast with jelly, thick-cut bacon, and crispy hash browns? Yes, please! However, I'm not a fan of their burgers. I found it a bit too plain for my taste. Also, it's cash-only, which is a bit inconvenient. I'd definitely visit more often if they accepted cards.
